Dr. Chau Do Truong Son is the Deputy Head of Interventional Cardiology at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He is a specialist in interventional cardiology, having completed fellowships in the field at the Heart Institute of HCMC, Vietnam, and Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Son earned his Doctor of Medicine as a General Practitioner from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC. He obtained a Ph.D. in Medicine from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. His Master’s thesis compared percutaneous coronary intervention with coronary artery bypass graft surgery for unprotected left main disease , while his Ph.D research focused on the use of fractional flow reserve in assessing intermediate non-culprit lesions in acute myocardial infarction.
He has authored and co-authored several publications and a book on coronary physiology. Dr. Son is an active member of the medical community, presenting at numerous national and international conferences. He holds memberships in the Ho Chi Minh Society of Interventional Cardiology (HSIC) and the Vietnam National Heart Association (VNHA), and is a Fellow of the ASEAN Federation of Cardiology (FAsCC).
Dr. Dang Duy Phuong is the Head of the Catheterization Lab at the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, where he has worked since 2007. He holds a PhD in Cardiology from Hanoi Medical University (2023) and a Master’s degree from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (2015).
A leading figure in his field, Dr. Phuong is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI) and serves on the executive committees of both the Ho Chi Minh City Interventional Cardiology Association and the Vietnam Heart Failure Association. He is an active researcher with numerous publications and has participated in significant clinical trials, including the THEMIS study and extensive research on Brugada syndrome.
Dr. DINH DUC HUY MD, PhD started the cardiology training in Heart Institue of HCMC, then spent his time in the year 2004-2005 at National Heart Institute of Malaysia to complete the fellowship training in interventional cardiology. He is a practicing interventional cardiologist from 2006 and now serving at Tam Duc Heart Hospital (HCMC, Vietnam) as the Director of Cardiology.
Dr. Dinh is an active faculty of many local, regional and international scientific meeting such as Singapore Live, Malaysia Live, APAC (Singapore), TAMIS (Taiwan), Complex PCI (South Korea), ECC (Switzerland), SCAI (USA)…. His interests in the field of interventional cardiology includes DCB, complex PCI (left main, bifurcation…) and acute coronary syndromes intervention.
Assoc. Prof. Đỗ Quang Huân, MD, PhD. graduated as a Medical Doctor from Europe in 1986. He obtained a postgraduate degree in Interventional Cardiology from French Republic, in 2001. He received his Doctor of Medicine (PhD) degree in 2008 in Vietnam and was conferred the title of Associate Professor in the field of Medicine in 2018.
Currently, he holds the positions of Vice President of the Vietnam National Heart Association – Interventional Cardiology Society, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Interventional Cardiology Association. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
He used to be lecturer of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City and The Pham Ngọc Thạch University of Medicine.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. MD Đỗ Quang Huân has participated in and chaired over 30 domestic and international scientific research projects on internal cardiology and interventional cardiology. These works have been published in specialized medical and pharmaceutical journals both domestically and internationally.

Dr. Do Van Chien is a highly qualified cardiologist and deputy head of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department at the 108 Military Central Hospital in Hanoi.
He holds a medical doctorate and has pursued extensive education in cardiology, including a Ph.D. from the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy Research 108.
Dr. Chien’s research interests focus on coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, thromboembolism, and structural heart diseases, and he has extensive clinical training both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Ho Anh Binh is currently Head of the Department of Emergency and Interventional Cardiology, Director of the Cardiovascular Center, and Deputy Director of Hue Central International Hospital. He obtained his MD in 1997, MSc in Internal Medicine in 2002, and PhD in Cardiology in 2010 at Hue University. With extensive training in France, Australia, and Taiwan, his research focuses on coronary artery disease, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular risk factors. His numerous publications consistently address the diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of coronary interventions, reflecting his dedication to advancing cardiovascular medicine in Vietnam
A/Prof. HO Huynh Quang Tri, MD, PhD was a 1988 graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Odessa, Ukraine. He obtained a fellowship in Internal Medicine at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital (HCMC) and a fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine and Cardiology at Heart Institute. He honed his skills in cardiac intensive care during a 1-year-long residency at Broussais Hospital in Paris, France (1993-1994). He was awarded the PhD degree in Medicine in 2010 at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP) HCMC.
Dr HO joined the staff of the Heart Institute in 1992, and served as Chief of the Intensive Care Unit from 2002 to 2024. From August 2024, Dr HO is a Senior Medical and Training Consultant at the Heart Institute. He has been serving as a senior lecturer at the Department of Internal Medicine of UMP since 2011. In March 2018, he was appointed Associate Professor of Medicine at the same Department.
Dr HO holds the position of Vice-President and Genral Secretary of the HCMC Cardiovascular Association.
He has published more than 100 scientific papers in Vietnamese medical journals, co-authored 11 chapters in medical textbooks, and had international publications in Asian Cardiovascular & Thoracic Annals, The Journal of Heart Valve Disease, European Cardiology Review, International Journal of Clinical Practice, Journal of Pain Research, Lipids in Health and Disease, Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Journal of Applied Hematology.
Associate Professor HO Thuong Dung, MD, PhD, FACC, FSCAI, FESC, FAPSIC, a distinguished figure in cardiology in Vietnam, has been recognized for his expertise in interventional cardiology and his dedication to advancing cardiovascular healthcare.
With over 30 years of experiences, A/Prof. Ho has served as Chief of the Department of Emergency and Interventional Cardiology and Director of the Cardiovascular Center at Thong Nhat Hospital (HCMC, Vietnam). He is holding academic positions as a passionate educator in internal medicine and geriatrics across prominent universities in Vietnam. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice to influential research in intravascular imaging in coronary artery disease, complex percutaneous coronary interventions, and robotic-assisted PCI. He has numerous publications in esteemed journals and has co-authored several medical text books chapters.
As a respected leader, A/Prof. Ho was the Former President of Vietnam Interventional Cardiology Society (VICS) and currently is the Vice-President of HCMC Society of Interventional Cardiology (HSIC). His ongoing involvement in professional organizations such as ACC, SCAI and APSIC underscores his commitment to sharing knowledge and shaping the future of cardiovascular medicine both in Vietnam and internationally.
Dr. Ho Van Phuoc is the Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department at Da Nang Hospital, Vietnam. He is also a Lecturer at the University of Danang – School of Medicine and Pharmacy, and serves as a Clinical Instructor for postgraduate training programs in cardiology in Vietnam. Dr. Phuoc is an active member of SCAI, VNHA, and AFCC. He has been invited as faculty and speaker at several national and international cardiology conferences, including VICC, AFCC, SIF, and regional APSC meetings. His main clinical and research interests include complex coronary interventions, intravascular imaging-guided PCI, and the optimization of treatment strategies for high-risk patients.
Dr. Hoang Van is a currently serving as the Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department at Ha Noi Heart Hospital, where he also holds the position of Vice Director. With a robust educational background, Dr. VAN earned his MD in 2001, followed by a Master of Science in 2006. He completed his PhD in Cardiology in 2016.
Dr. Hoang is deeply committed to advancing cardiovascular health in Vietnam and beyond. His professional affiliations include membership in several esteemed organizations, such as Vietnam Heart Association, Vietnam Society of Interventional Cardiology, and ASEAN Federation of Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angioplasty and Interventions, reflecting his dedication to excellence in the field of interventional cardiology.
Dr. Huynh Quoc Hieu is an interventional cardiologist and the Deputy Head of the VIP Department at Tam Duc Heart Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2010. He subsequently pursued specialized training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Tam Duc Heart Hospital and completed an advanced training program at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in Malaysia in 2018.
Dr. Hieu is also academically active, serving as a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. He has co-authored a research paper published in the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Assoc. Prof. Huynh Van Thuong MD, PhD SCAI, graduated from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1988. He obtained a Master’s degree in General Internal Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 2000, and a PhD in Cardiology from Hue University in 2012.
He completed his residency (FFI) in Intensive Care Medicine at CHU Nantes, France (1994–1995); clinical fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Cho Ray Hospital (2005–2007); advanced training in left main and bifurcation PCI in Korea; and training in chronic total occlusion PCI and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in Japan.
With more than 30 years of experience, he has held several leadership positions including Head of ICU, Head of Interventional Cardiology Department, Vice Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, and Director of the Cardiovascular Center, Khanh Hoa General Hospital. He has actively participated in numerous national and international cardiology conferences and has authored over 50 scientific papers published in the Vietnam Journal of Cardiology.

Dr. Le Duy Lac serves as the Head of the Interventional Cardiology Unit and Head of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Thu Duc City Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2010 and completed his Specialist Level II in Internal Cardiology at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2022. He has been a physician at Thu Duc City Hospital since 2012, assuming his current leadership roles in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
Dr. Lac is an Executive Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Cardiac Rhythm and a member of the Vietnam National Heart Association. He is a frequent speaker at major national cardiology conferences, including HSIC. He has trained at the prestigious National University Hospital of Singapore (NUHCS) and has undergone advanced training in South Korea (Asan Medical Center), Japan, and Austria.
Dr. Ngo is a proud member of SCAI (FSCAI), ACC (FACC), and serves on the Board of APSIC (FAPSIC), Vietnam Heart Association (VNHA), VSIC, and HSIC. Currently, he is the Deputy Head of the Department of Interventional Cardiology at Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC, Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen Duc Chinh is the Head of the Cardiology Department at Can Tho S.I.S General Hospital, the large cardiac center in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. With nearly 15 years of experience in complex coronary interventions, Dr. Chinh has made important contributions to the development of interventional cardiology in Southern Vietnam. He is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Dr. Chinh has performed thousands of procedures and actively participates in national and international scientific congresses. He is also involved in training young cardiologists and contributing to research in the field, reflecting his dedication to clinical excellence and academic growth.
Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tai My is an interventional cardiologist at Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He earned his medical degree and postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and completed international fellowships in France and the United States. His expertise covers coronary and structural heart interventions, including TAVI, MitraClip, and ASD/PFO closures. Dr. My has presented at national and international cardiology conferences and authored several peer-reviewed publications. Passionate about innovation and patient-centered care, he is dedicated to advancing interventional cardiology through evidence-based research and collaboration.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc obtained his MD and MSc in Internal Cardiology from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam. He completed advanced fellowships in Interventional Cardiology and Pacemaker Implantation at Hue University Hospital, University Medical Center HCMC, and international programs in Singapore and Japan (Okamura Memorial Hospital, Tokyo Women’s Medical University). He currently serves as Chief of the Cardiology Department at Quang Tri General Hospital, where he has performed over 2,700 coronary interventions, 400 peripheral arterial interventions, and 250 pacemaker implantations. His clinical interests include complex PCI, coronary imaging (IVUS, FFR), and acute coronary syndromes. Dr. Duc has published several papers in international journals such as JACC and BME Proceedings (Springer), and actively contributes to academic and professional cardiology networks.
Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, an adult and pediatric cardiologist, was granted Associate Professor in 2013. He is also serving as a member of The National Assembly Vietnam session 14 to 15. A. Prof. Nguyen has been the Director of HMU Hospital since April 2019 and also, Director of Cardiovascular Center, Vice Head of the Department of Cardiology, Hanoi Medical University.
A.Prof. Nguyen has been in interventional cardiology practice for more than 20 years. He is a leading specialist in the intervention of congenital and structural heart diseases. His skillful hands are not only well-known in Vietnam but also internationally. He has been helping to train many interventionists throughout the world. A.Prof. Nguyen has been attending as invited speaker in many cardiology conferences worldwide, presenting topics related to congenital and structural heart intervention.
Apart from doing an intervention, he also had a lot of charity activities in screening children with congenital heart diseases in various provinces in Vietnam, giving consultations, and treating those children. With the role as a politician and the leader of the most well-known University Hospital in Vietnam, he wants firstly to build the University hospital to become the leading hospital in the country to provide high-quality health care service, friendly environment with the mission: “Bringing love, spreading joy to all patients, relatives and health care workers”, a good training center for physicians all over the world, then influence those spirits to all health care facilities throughout the country, attract more and more domestic and international investments to build the health care system in Vietnam become better.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang is the Vice Head of the Department of Cardiology at Hanoi Medical University and the Head of the Coronary Care Unit at the Vietnam National Heart Institute. His main professional interests are Interventional Cardiology, with a focus on Coronary Intervention and Valvuloplasty, and Cardiovascular Epidemiology.
He has authored over 120 articles and contributed to several international book chapters on interventional cardiology. Dr. Quang is a distinguished international faculty member at major conferences, including EuroPCR, TCT, and TCT-AP. He holds numerous prestigious fellowships, including FAsCC, FAPSIC, FSCAI, FACC, and FESC.
Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan is a distinguished figure in Vietnamese cardiology. He graduated from Hanoi Medical University in 1994, followed by a two-year fellowship in interventional cardiology at Toulouse University, France. He earned his PhD in 2005 and was awarded the title of Professor in 2017.
Dr. Tuan has held significant leadership positions, including Director of Hanoi Heart Hospital and later, Director of Bach Mai Hospital. As of 2017, he served as President of the Vietnam Association of Interventional Cardiology and was a member of prestigious organizations like FSCAI and FAPSIC. In 2010, his team won the first prize in the “Vietnamese Talent” awards for their work on coronary stenting.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Quoc graduated from medical university in 1999 and has been working at the Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute since 2001. In 2004, he joined the Department of Interventional Cardiology, and from 2007 to 2008, he completed a fellowship at the National Heart Centre of Singapore.
With over 20 years of experience in interventional cardiology, Dr. Quoc specializes in coronary interventions, pacemaker and implantable cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT – D), and structural heart disease interventions such as closure of intracardiac shunts, pulmonary and mitral balloon valvuloplasty, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
His research interests include antiplatelet therapy, alcohol septal ablation in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thai is an experienced cardiologist and interventional cardiologist at the Vietnam National Heart Institute, Bachmai Hospital, where he serves as the Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Head of the C4 Department.
He holds a Ph.D. in Medicine and is a Fellow of the ASEAN College of Cardiology (FAsCC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).
Dr. Thai has been an invited speaker at many national and international cardiology congresses and specializes in coronary and peripheral interventions.
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Tan is a prominent cardiologist and geriatrician, serving as Head of Interventional Cardiology at Thong Nhat Hospital (HCMC) since 2019 and as Head of the Department of Geriatrics and Gerontology at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP) at Ho Chi Minh City since 2024.
Appointed as an Associate Professor in 2020, Dr. Nguyen’s academic journey includes a M.D. from UMP (2002), residency training in internal medicine (2006), a Master’s in General & Geriatric Medicine (2008), and a Ph.D. in Cardiology (2015).He further specialized with a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Phramongkutklao College, Thailand. He is holding fellowships of APSIC, SCAI and serving as a member of the Executive Committees of Vietnam Atherosclerosis Society, HCMC Geriatrics Society and Vietnam Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics. Dr. Nguyen has mentored numerous graduate students (Ph.D, MSc) and postgraduate physicians.
His researchs have been published in internationally renowned journals (Frontiers in Medicine, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, BMC Geriatrics, Australasian Journal on Ageing, Journal of Geriatric Cardiology). His studies focus on issues such as frailty in elderly patients with acute coronary syndromes and the impact of sarcopenia on cardiac outcomes, contributing valuable data to Vietnam’s medical field and advancing geriatric cardiovascular care.
Dr. Pham Duc Dat serves as the Head of the Department of Interventional Cardiology at People’s Hospital 115 in Ho Chi Minh City. He graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC in 1997 and holds a Specialist Level 2 degree in Internal Medicine. Dr. Dat has been with People’s Hospital 115 since 1998, progressing to his current leadership role in 2013.
With extensive experience, he has performed over 6,000 coronary interventions and is proficient in a wide range of complex procedures, including peripheral, structural, and aortic stent grafts. He is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and a visiting lecturer at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. Dr. Dat has also participated in significant research, including the THEMIS trial.
Prof. Pham Manh Hung is the Director of Vietnam National Heart Institute and the Head of Department of Cardiology, Hanoi Medical University. He is a leading interventional cardiologist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in coronary interventions, valve disease, and structural heart disease intervention.
As an accomplished educator and mentor, Professor Phạm has supervised 10 PhD candidates and guided more than 50 Master’s and equivalent degree students, contributing to the development of the next generation of cardiologists and researchers in Vietnam.
Professor Phạm has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and more than 30 books on interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine, significantly advancing knowledge in his field. He has been honored with numerous awards for his contributions to cardiology and public health, helping establish Vietnam as a leader in cardiovascular research and practice.
Associate Professor Pham Nguyen Vinh, MD, PhD, FACC, FASE, is a highly respected cardiologist in Ho Chi Minh City with a distinguished career spanning over five decades. An 1971 graduate of Saigon University of Medicine, A. Prof. Pham currently serves as the Director of the Cardiovascular Center at Tam Anh General Hospital and is the Chief of the Internal Medicine Department at Tan Tao University’s School of Medicine.
He also holds the position of President of the Vietnam Society of Echocardiography, where he contributes significantly to advancing cardiovascular care in Vietnam.
A.Prof. Pham has published extensively, with over 150 articles in scientific journals and contributions to ten books as an editor or contributor. He has also played a vital role in developing guidelines for the Vietnam National Heart Association (VNHA), demonstrating his commitment to improving cardiovascular health and education in Vietnam.
Dr. Pham Tran Linh is a distinguished cardiologist at the Heart Institute, holding a PhD in Cardiology from the Military Medical Academy (2016). He graduated from Hanoi Medical University as a Medical Doctor in 1999 and completed his cardiology residency there in 2003. Dr. Linh has pursued advanced, specialized training in arrhythmia intervention in Australia, Germany, and Singapore.
His primary expertise lies in the intervention and ablation of complex cardiac arrhythmias and the implantation of cardiac devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, and CRT. Dr. Linh holds prominent leadership roles as the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Heart Rhythm Society and an Executive Committee member of the Vietnam Heart Association (VNHA). He is also a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and a member of the ASEAN Federation of Cardiology (FAsCC) and the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS)
Dr. Tran Tra Giang is a skilled interventional cardiologist at Hanoi Heart Hospital, with over 10 years of experience in coronary and peripheral interventions.
She holds a medical degree from Hanoi Medical University and has specialized training in cardiology from the Vietnam National Heart Institute.
Dr. Giang has contributed to numerous publications and presentations at international cardiology conferences and has received several awards, including recognition for excellence in PCI procedures.
Dr. Truong Phi Hung is a cardiologist and lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, with expertise in interventional cardiology.
He holds a Ph.D. in Cardiology and has published research on topics such as hs-CRP levels, acute coronary syndrome, and heart failure.
Dr. Hung has extensive experience working at Cho Ray Hospital and has presented at various national and international cardiology conferences.
Professor Truong Quang Binh is a dedicated cardiologist with over three decades of experience in the field of cardiology and interventional cardiology. He completed his MD in 1986, followed by extensive postgraduate training, including a PhD in Medicine. Throughout his career, he has held various academic and clinical positions, most notably as the Professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Director of Cardiovascular Center and Vice-Director of the University Medical Center HCMC.
